The La Pine Chamber of Commerce does a great job promoting commerce and tourism while making La Pine a vibrant community to work, live and play. They hold monthly Chamber breakfast that are well attended and usually at capacity. Thank you for a job well done.

The city of La Pine is one of Oregon's hidden treasures. Surrounded by Deschutes National Forest, including Newberry Crater National Volcanic Monument, it has every recreational opportunity you can imagine, and 4 beautiful seasons of clean dry climate. Never too hot or too cold, although the weather can be briefly extreme. I saw a bumper sticker that said, "La Pine, Oregon - it's not for sissys!" But what a place to play - OMG. Golfing, river rafting, fishing, hiking, Ponderosa Pine campgrounds, geothermal volcanic features - hot springs, lava tubes, caves, paved scenic highways for bicycles and motorcycles. Snow capped mountain views year 'round. Winter has world class Mt. Bachelor ski resort, dozens of snow parks for snow play - snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling. The city does an impressive 4th of July celebration, summer rodeo and Fall music festival. Nice people, small town charm, low light & clear skies means you can see the stars and milky way. A fabulous observatory with a dozen telescopes and interpretors is only 20 miles north. Crater Lake is just over an hour south. Everything is very affordable. A great place to vacation - you won't be disappointed.
