Awesome Hostel! It's an older building and could do with a bit of renovation, but it definitely makes up for that with the atmosphere! Tanya makes you feel right at home even if you are only staying for a few days and gives you brilliant advice on what to do around Golden and the rest of the Rockies! She is always up for a chat and creates a great social atmosphere that connects all the guest and makes it an awesome and relaxed place to meet people. Also it's quite a small place which makes it really cozy and homely! DEFINITELY recommend and would always stay again if I'll ever come through Golden again!

My friend and I stayed here for two nights during our road trip through Canada. It was perfect for what we were looking for and we stayed in the room with 2 beds. Even though it is not a private room, it was for us since we were just two. Tanya was super friendly and a lot of fun to talk to. Being a cat lover, I also enjoyed playing with the 3 black cats who live at the hostel. I would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend this hostel.

Older hostel home, needs some fixes...not the cleanest, not the dirtiest. A little unprofessionally decorated for a hostel. Cool black cats run around. Did not like the set up of the rooms (rocking chair next to the bunk bed seems dangerous especially when ppl are using it to step down). Someone either lives in a tent in the back yard or it was being rented out to a guest. Looked sketchy. I liked the hostess. Fine to crash for a quick night.

The Good: Tayna (the host) was super freindly, knew the good spots to get a bit to eat suggested The Wolf Den as a good place to eat it was delicious, had plenty of knowledge of the town. The Bad: Our "bedroom" was right next to the livingroom super noisy people yelling and shouting till past 11:00pm, train tracks right across the street vibrated our beds everytime one went by, cats running around didn't see that when I was booking the place (friend is alergic), the place could use some renovations for sure. Summary: Host is very friendly, loud location, not kept up, beds shake, cats running around. Will not be returning 2/5 stars!
