My mother recently passed here. The Doctors and Nurses on the 3rd floor and 4th ICU were amazing, compassionate and very patient. They spoke to my family in layman terms and made sure my Dad and Mom understood everything. The 2 days I spent there I saw how hard the nurses worked being a nurse I understand. The day and night of Mom's passing they were exceptional. The only complaint I have is there is no place for family to rest if you are out of town.

Misdiagnosed , falsified records, life threatening and testing incomplete. Falsified records claim I was in isolation instead made to wait in the lobby for over an hour. Pretended they did not know what was wrong with me when returned to the hospital ( life threatening). Returned back to ER's over 40 times and spouse who was out of the country during misdiagnosis/harm left in the dark about everything and had no way to explain the state I was in or how I got like that. They pretended my condition was a mental illness to cover it all up. Also, Illegal accessed to test not ordered and images replaced (damage concealment)..

Thank goodness for this hospital. I think they saved us. A family member presented at Halifax QEII emerg and staff couldn't decide on an x-ray (but did other tests) and released the patient with medication. Exact same symptoms presented to Dartmouth General when family member collapsed 3 days later at work and was taken to their emerg. They took an xray (among other tests) found the problem, and the nurses and staff were superb. Our family member is recovering well. I am a very big fan of this hospital now and hope if I ever get taken into emerg, it is on the Dartmouth side and not the Halifax side.

I think it's terrible that patients have to pay for TV while recovering or not. And I find it hard to believe that with "The Public Donnations" Your Director is not Providing Internet Access for the Familys and Patient's while at your Hospital. CHEAP! I want Internet for the Dartmouth General HOSPITAL! QE2 has it! Nothing else to compliment this Hospital on because they have let many Of my Family members DIE before they can collect there OLD AGE PENSION.

I found the emergency department to be very well run, despite the hospital's reputation. I was quickly seen by the triage nurse and then scheduled accordingly. Even though it wasn't serious, I still didn't have an overly long waiting time. Once I was inside, the wait was a bit longer, but the care and concern for my comfort was good throughout.
