We took our grand children to the zoo along with their bicycles and they had a wonderful time riding ahead of us as we walked the various paved circuits to see the animals on display. While this is a rather small zoo, in the scheme of things, it was none the less fun and interesting to the little ones as they saw many animals that they have only seen on TV. It is a bit pricey for a family to go on an outing but for a really special adventure it was worth the costs. It is after all expensive to maintain and feed the animals so the admission price is understandable. We enjoyed ourselves, as we went when the train was not running and the attendance was low midweek. So in all we had a good time, learned a few things from the talks staff provided and we will return once again with the grand kids as they thought it was a great deal of fun.

So disappointed. I went here as a child with my dad and took my children when they were young. Many happy memories. We went today with friends. Absolutely pathetic. Many animals are missing with no replacement. The areas are filthy and run down. The animals look undernourished. Many enclosures are empty. We've been to the Woodland zoo in Seattle for half the cost and it's amazing and educational. Shame on you to charge so much for so little. I am embarrassed that this is our lower mainland zoo. The animals deserve better and so do we.

A terrific way to spend your day with your family. They have everything from monkeys to black bears and a train that gives tours around the entire facility. The animals all appear to look like they're given enough room to live comfortably and have their privacy. They also have bald eagles and a couple of really big giraffes. My daughter loves coming here. There's also a great playground for the little kids - in case they need to burn off some energy.

There are still some exotic animals. But for the most part the shift to domestic animals is evident. The tiger gave a great show. The animals come out for our viewing pleasure for the most part! Nice play area. The train ride around was nice. Definately worth a visit!

A nice outing for a family. If you live close and have younger kids, I'd strongly recommend getting the annual pass. You get a free trip on the train every time you visit. We will just go for an hour or two to ride the train, play on the playground and see if their favourite animals are out.
