Great view of the Fraser River and Camelshoof Peak, between Lillooet and Pavilion. When I first travelled this stretch of highway toward Whistler, I was quite in awe of the expanse of this valley. On our way back to Calgary, I told myself I was going to take this route again so I could catch all the viewpoints I missed along the way. The location in the photo is a bit further north up the highway. We parked just before a concrete safety barrier. While it is a nice spot for a wide angle shot, I would caution on the risk of the location, with the nature of the slope and the sharp drop below to the railroad tracks. I would suggest viewing this area either later in the day, to add more dynamic shadows and richer colours, or possible earlier in the day as the sun comes over the mountains. This was shot in full day, around 1:30 PM, so the colours are not very rich at all. I will certainly be enhancing this photo to reflect less of the harsh sunlight look. I would suggest traveling through the area in a southward direction for the first time, in order to get a feel for how amazing the area looks. It is also easier to stop on the right side of the road then to take photos. Safe travels! And live inspired! Ray
