This is an interesting and quick stop in Stanley Park. Totem poles are a unique and beautiful form of art and storytelling, so don’t pass them by. I only gave this review 4 stars because having more detailed interpretation would be a cultural asset. There if a little gift store here that has touristy trinkets to high-end carvings. I would suggest that it would be lovely to feature a local First Nations artisan here daily during the summer months- there are so many talented artisans in the area!

A definite stop if you are in Stanley Park - the hop on hop off bus stops just outside. These poles are well worth seeing - their size and colour is spectacular, and the chance to see so many in one place is well worth taking. There is a gift and coffee shop there, as well as washrooms - so well worth taking the time for a visit.

Stanley Park is worth a visit based on all the other activities here, but best of all, for me was the display of First Nation Totem Poles. The First Nation Totem Poles are very impressive indeed, and well worth a visit. Some of them were carved as early as the 1880s but others are more recent. they evidence a richness of culture which is hard for me to express as an outsider to this civilisation. The fact that First Nations tribes had met at the Stanley Park site for many generations before the arrival of white people reminds me of the ancientness of this culture, something marked so well by the Totem Poles - well worth a visit.

Must stop at Stanley Park! Great photo opp! Google Map will make you miss the parking lot so only look for the signs and totem pole entrance. If you miss parking, you have to drive all the way around again. Luckily, we went during the weekday and crowd wasn't bad.

Lovely area of Stanley Park! Great place to soak up some of the history and grab a souvenir or a snack. Definitely stop here if you're making the trip!
