There is not much more I can say that others haven’t - this viewing site allows you to get very close to these adorable creatures, and it is an easy and beautiful walk next to cliffs. (We also saw whales). Especially interesting for us was how clearly we could see the many burrows. We wouldn’t really have appreciated this as much if we had not recently watched an incredible documentary called “Puffin Patrol”. (I think I streamed it from Amazon Prime Video.) I highly recommend watching this or a similar documentary before going to view the puffins. Having an understanding of these little creatures, their migration and mating habits, the construction of their burrows, and the little treasures that are currently inside those burrows made it infinitely more fascinating. Why do you see the puffins flying around with a fish in its bill? Why doesn’t he/she just swallow it? The documentary explains (and shows) it all.

Great place to view puffins. Trail to viewing area is an easy walk, not difficult for anyone to walk. For pictures you really do need a camera that had a good zoom to get a good picture. The birds are a lot smaller than you would expect.

Not sure what the big deal is about this. Yes there are puffins but so far away that you would really need a good camera to capure them in a decent photo. You would be better to get to Bay Bulls and take a whale watching/bird watching tour and you will get much closer to the Puffins. Gull island has the second largest colony of puffins in the world (next to Iceland).

Fascinating place to visit and watch the puffins. Be prepared to visit several times as you don't always see lots of them... We were never disappointed, but on a couple of occasions there were hundreds of them in sight.

Arrived 26th of august. There are still dozens of puffin pairs coming and going in easy viewing range of about 25 meters. There are probably many more out of sight. It is a short walk from parking and any one able to walk unassisted or with perhaps a cane can make it. There is some rocky ground to cover for a short bit.
