Beautiful park with a shaded grassy area and a sandy beach where Lake Huron meets the river. The current is very strong here, so, even as a local, I didn't allow my kids to swim here until they were older and even then with a lot of caution. There are safer beaches for swimming nearby, but this is a great place for a picnic and boat watching.

My favorite beach! ⛱ I love the trees in the sand for setting up my hammock. Great for rock picking and free parking for residents (I recommend street parking otherwise).

Very well manicured park. There was a wedding prior to our arrival. Excellent place for it! We saw a sailboat race and a few freighters drift close by. Dogs are allowed at the park, not on the beach.

The city doesn’t have enough public beach but this us the second nicest one in the area. Unlike the larger Lakeside Park, Lighthouse is NOT inundated and over rum by “city visitors”. Mostly “townies”. Other pluses? Adjacent to beautiful Fort Gratiot Lighthouse. Oldest functioning lighthouse on the Great Lakes. Visitors can climb the Lighthouse for a small fee and see for miles. Visit its gift shops and original light keepers quarters. Lighthouse Beach also host the areas annual Float Down which has turned into quite a celebrated event in Port Huron. Bottom line this beach where Lake Huron winds its way toward the St Clair River is a great spot for an afternoon of sun and sand!!!

I was really sad to see the park at the beach is no longer free and there are fees. Been coming here for a few years (1.5 hour drive one way) for a quick dip in the lake. Not today, had to keep going.
