Hakim Optical Marlborough Mall

Worst customer service. I called them to get my prescription over the phone, the guy who initially helped me said he would be able to but the systems were currently down so I had to call back later. I waited another 2 hours like he had asked me to, and he then tells me he will get someone to help me because at the time it was busy so he would put me on hold. I was on hold for about 10 minutes until someone just hung up the phone on me without saying anything, so I tried calling back. No answer. I called back another 5 or 6 times until someone finally answers and it was a lady, when I told her I was waiting to get my prescription and that someone hung up on me as I was waiting, she said they weren’t allowed to give my prescription records over the phone. I asked why not as it is MY information and I have a RIGHT to my medical history. They said I had to come in and get it because they require me to sign a waiver. THAT IS A LIE! they are not allowed to make you sign a waiver for your own personal information, they just want you to come in so they can try to sell their own products to you. You have every right to request your records in any form and they cannot make you sign anything for it. After trying to talk to them they said they could fax me over my prescription so I told them to do so. After waiting about 20minutes with no incoming fax, I called again. No one picked up. Called back another 3 or 4 times and a lady picked up, I asked if they sent my fax in yet, and the lady again, asked for my information and then she said she was going to fax it NOW. hey made me wait 20min and they didn’t even send it to me yet until I had to call again. I asked her if I could stay on the line with her to make sure there were no other issues and she told me “ma’am, we’re busy now I’m faxing it to you now okay?” and then she hung up on me as I was trying to speak. So rude and very unprofessional. They made this very small request into a big chase for no reason and it seems like their employees aren’t aware of health record rights. Make sure you do your research. Never coming back to this store.

I had great service here and got a great price on my glasses. I think it's funny how someone gets 2 pair of glasses for under 315 and complains about not getting a cleaning cloth then gives this place a 1* review. Get a life lady why didnt you buy from Pearl Vision oh I know why because they are too expensive. So next time buy from them and spend over 700 bucks and get your cloth for free then too. I spent the 5 bucks and got a cloth and cleaner well worth it. Thanks to the young chap who was great at what he does . Will be back.

I went to Lenscrafter they initially greeted me good but as soon as the sale persons see my social assistant card, I was left alone pointing to a small tray of frames I can choose from. I went to Hakim and was happily greeted by Kam. She stay with me through out and treated me like another other buying customers. She is awesome at what she does, no wonder she is the manager of the store.

I am in Saskatoon where there is no Hakim Optical. I had a broken frame and called a few places in Alberta. I had the best experience when I spoke with Isabella. She was very patient with me and helped me locate the exact frame that I needed, ordered them and have them shipped to me in early July 2018. Good to have people like that around. She was the best and I hope Hakim Optical also appreciate it as we the customers do. Erique
