I came to Nauset Optical looking for some help with my prescription glasses. The Owner, Paul, was extremely helpful and able to fit and match me with the perfect set of lenses, and frames. I couldn't have been happier with the both service and the result. I've been to several opticians over the years, and he was by far the best. I can safely say I will be going back to Nauset Optical in the future.

I wish I didn't even have to give a star, I'm so disappointed. I have lived on the cape now for quite some time as I am a business owner myself here. I have to say there has not been one time that I have stepped into this office and not been treated so poorly. The gentlemen that owns this establishment is BEYOND RUDE and has NEVER ONCE given me the time of day. Today I needed my glasses adjusted and walked in wanting to pay him for his time to simply tighten the frame. He said to me that it wasn't worth his time to help me as I did not buy the frames from him. It's truly unfortunate to see a local business run in this manner. Had he been nice and taken 5 minutes to help me I would have paid him as well as come back in the future for business. Little did he know I was also in the market for another pair of frames today. Since my little $25 ask was not worth his time (he had nobody else in there and was slow) then I'll take my business elsewhere.

The man that came out to help me was rude. I let him know that glasses are not covered under my insurance and I was on a budget. He started stearing me in the direction of $300-400+ frames knowing I was looking for polarised lenses which add another $230 to the total bill. As I was looking around he followed me like I was going to steal something until I had enough and said I would come back another time. He left me alone at this point and as I was walking out I saw the display for the discount frames which offer frames AND prescription polarised lenses for $179. Surely if he wanted to actually assist me, he would have pointed that out to me first when I said I was on a budget. While I was trying to decide between two sets of frames, he yelled at me for taking a picture so that I could send it to my mom to get her opinion. All that being said, I prefer to shop locally but I won't step foot in there again. I'll look to the other retailers in Orleans first and move onto online retailers if needed.

Always excellent service from Paul Heard. Been doing business there for 25 years and have never had any complaints. Dr. Todd is also caring and excellent.

I had an unpleasant experience. First, the optometrist had to be reminded that I wanted to try contact lenses and charged me $65 for a "consultation," over and above my $30 co-pay for an eye exam, that merely consisted of ordering me two sample lenses (after I had to call and remind them to order the lenses after not having heard from them in over two weeks). Then, when I called to ask for additional trial lenses, I explained that my vision was blurry in one eye. The optometrist called me back, left a message to the effect that she did not like playing phone tag and that it would be best for me to leave a detailed message as to what the issue was." I found the message to be condescending, offensive, and the entire experience substandard. I felt that once they realized I was not interested in $1,000 designer frames, I really couldn't get anyone's attention. I even had to ask for sample lens cleaner to go with my trial lenses- which was not initially offered. While Mr. Heard offered me a follow up appointment and apologized, I had no faith in this optometrist and was so offended that I have decided not to deal with these people further.
