I first visited the very friendly, family run Richmond Eye Care for a new pair of glasses twenty years ago. I was very satisfied with the price and quality of my glasses so I changed my shopping location from Vancouver to Richmond. During that time, I was very rough with my glasses due to racquet and bicycle activities so price and quality were my major purchasing factors. Later on, I went back for contact lenses, repair, prescription, and subsequently new glasses for my school, work and sport activities. I find it convenient to visit REC which is a good thing because I can pick up my contact lenses quickly. Today, I am happy to pick up my new glasses. As usual, it is comfortable to wear. With a minor adjustment to the frame, it fits very well, and just in time for tomorrow's trip across the border. Thanks!

Mid-2017 (forgot when I made my first review): I wanted to update my prescription so I called around for quotes. I chose this shop because their price was fair ($35 for glass prescription and $25 for contact lens check) - but more importantly, their professional manner was exceptionally well-received on the phone. That's my litmus test for good service. What can I say, it was an excellent experience. They were quite busy but the extra time leaving us alone allowed my mother and I to get accustomed to the target prescription. Excellent accuracy and willing to educate. Get your eyes checked here for best optimal value for sure. The sifu have 50 years of experience and it shows. Update Aug 11th 2018: Ordered some contact lens with the shop through family. Family lost track of time on a Saturday and thought they already closed for the day but swung by anyway. Found shop waiting WAYYYY past their store hours. And the shop gave me gifts (ie my favorite brand of lens solution to my surprise) on top. The dedication and commitment here to their customers is First-Class. Period.

GREAT PLACE FOR GLASSES. The selection is fantastic and the owners are really lovely people who helped me find the perfect pair. The service is fast, got my glasses in less than a week and the prices are also the best deal I've seen around and I've been to a lot of glasses shops. Definitely check out this place if you need new glasses you won't regret it! :)

When I went in to pick up my glasses, the owner did the fitting for me. When he finished with the fitting, he removed the plastic protective covering from the lenses "let me clean them for you". He proceeded to grab a Kleenex from the tissue box he had on the counter and soaked it with cleaning solution. I asked him to stop and told him that it is bad for the lenses to wipe them with facial tissue. "How long have you been wearing glasses? I have been doing this for 40 years". I told him that the course fiber in the tissue acts as a fine sandpaper. He said "this is bad information. Fake news. I will pay you back if I scratch your glasses". He proceeded to clean the lenses with the tissue. Ironically, when he was done, he gave me this special cloth that came with the lenses and show me how to use one side of the cloth to clean the lenses and the other side to clean the frame. I regret I have to give this negative review and ruin their perfect rating. I did get a good price for my glasses. But I had to restrain myself from an all-out confrontation with the owner and had to walk away feeling my brand new glasses have been compromised. I have to disagree with other reviewers on their professionalism.
