It took a colleague at my downtown office to tell me about this optical that's just located down the street from where I live. Being frustrated with my existing glasses a business associate told me to visit his optician at Di Sapia Opticians on St Clair. To my surprise I didn't realize that there would be a high end optical with all the big brands and big service in my hood. I would highly recommend Di Sapia Opticians for all your eye care needs. They arrange my eye exams that are done on site with an optometrist who is also great to deal with, very thorough.

Made one visit to inquire about having new lenses installed in a persol frame I own. The man, who I assume was the owner, first seemed upset that I had just gone the wall and taken frames down. I hadn't, I walked in with my frames. Then came 20 question about how I got them, which I didn't feel was his business, but I did tell him I bought them on a whim from an auction and I just wanted a quote for lenses. I then gave my script to him and he then went on same rant about how there is a lot to consider with lenses, I told I needed 1.67 or the new 1.70 high index, he got more irritated that had done some homework. Keep in mind I just wanted a quote. Finally he just handed my glasses and script back told me it was going to be $250 and he could not guarantee he wouldn't break my frames, he did not wait for an answer just told me to think on it and excused himself. Now, I am not sure if it was a bad day? The clothes I was wearing? The fact I didn't get my prescription done there or buy my frames there? Or maybe he is just an arrogant jerk? Whatever the reason I found the experience horrible and would not recommend this store to anyone. I find it sad that as someone who lives around the corner from this shop has a family that all wear either prescription glasses or expensive sun glasses cannot get decent service to earn my business. As a side note I found an optical lab that took less than 20 mins and installed high index lenses with all coatings. The lab charged me $80. More than $170 less expensive and zero attitude.
