Excellent and highly professional service by a clearly extremely knowledgeable optometrist. Clear and specific explanations of the various options, and no pressure to purchase. Having worked in the industry before, I always prefer a 'no-nonsense' professional approach such as this to the more 'sanitised' type of customer service you tend to get with chain opticians.

I had an eye test here and made a pair of glasses, only to find that I had trouble reading. The staff at University Vision initially said that it just takes time to adjust to new pair of glasses. It was only when it didn't improve that we found I had developed presbyopia. One would think that's what an eye test is supposed to discover. University Vision refused to reglaze my glasses and I had to pay extra to buy another pair. I was very disappointed.

Don't know about the Malet Street location but the City Road one was pretty great. They helped find glasses to fit my face shape (difficult), and I got in for an appointment the very same day. The doctor was clearly very experienced and even explained the photo of the back of my eye to me, which no doctor has ever bothered to do before. It's a lot better than the high street chains!

I've been with University Vision for years. The staff are always helpful and were great at helping me chose new glasses a couple of years ago. They don't assume you're going to buy glasses with every yearly eye test and have been helpful with contact lens issues.

Had an eye test today. The optometrist and staff were all friendly and thorough. There was no pressure to buy glasses afterwards. Am surprised at the earlier anonymous negative review.
