I am a senior and am familiar with Ratas. This small optical store has nice frames and a clear view! The new staff, a youngish man, is unpleasant, to say the least. End August, as I was looking for a replacement frame, the staff, H, would not step away from me. I asked him, civilly, for some space to look for myself - to my surprise, he said he "could not"..... I asked to speak to another staff (I now know, there is only one staff on, usually) and learned she had gone for an errand. H. told me that I should get 'psychological help' so I stepped out of the store to wait for her in the hallway. I think ?Anne may no longer be there - she listened sympathetically and I felt better and left as it was near closing time. I came by weeks later to bring in my broken frame to see if it could be reordered. Unfortunately, H. was the only staff in the store. He reacted to my presence through his body language and tone as he was finishing up with another customer; of course, I ignored him. I left a note with my broken frame for the female staff and started to look at a few new frames. Suddenly, H. told me he had to leave early as there was some sort of emergency - it was forty-five minutes before closing time and I pointed this out to him. He said he had to go and so did I. When I stepped out into the hallway, as he locked the front glass door of the store, he motioned circles around the side of his head indicating I was crazy. ---------------------------------------- Take care.

I have not spent any money in this store, but was walking by and popped in to see if they could straighten my glasses that were sitting slightly crooked on my face. The staff person straightened them right away, and was very kind. I would go back and recommend to others.

Love this place, so many original, one of a kind glasses to choose from. Very easy going and accommodating service. Went in to buy one pair of glasses and easily found at least 5 pairs I wanted to buy! Will be back.
