Dropped off my sunglasses that needed a new screw to reattach the arm. They quoted a quick $5 repair. When I came back to grab them they said, "Don't worry about it." And I left with repaired shades free of charge. Check out this great shop for your optical needs.

Visiting in Burlington, VT a couple of years ago, I walked into The Optical Center on the Church Street mall and immediately found frames (light, unobtrusive and attractive) that have changed my life. The service was extraordinary (it took 3 seconds to measure me for the frames, should I decide to buy it). No one pressured me to hurry and make the purchase immediately. I returned to the west coast, described the frames to my ophthalmologist, who did not think they were available in the area, and who gave me a prescription which I mailed to Nathan Mitchell at The Optical Center in Burlington. Within days the new pair of glasses, lenses expertly made in the Burlington shop, arrived. I found them so much better than any I'd ever had that I ordered a pair of prescription sunglasses with the same frames as soon as possible. One of the better decisions I've made.

It's a solid place to buy more expensive glasses. The male workers there are very engaging and friendly. The female workers are significantly less so and have a very elitist vibe (although they work retail). I walked in this past Sunday and I smiled at the greeter, who gave me the "up-and-down" with such spite that I thought I had accidentally made eye contact with a customer. I continued into the store, made eye contact with an older gentleman, who helped me out, showed me a bunch of different glasses and I walked out with a great pair of Gucci frames in less than 10 minutes. He was great. While the gentleman was helping me, I did notice the blond-haired female greeter smile and engage the next 4 people to walk through the door. This confirmed my suspicions that she did work at the store and also confirmed that she was being extremely rude to me. In the future I will try on glasses at their store, then buy them online. That way I can get the convenience of seeing how they look on my face, but I won't have to actually give additional dollars to a company that has such a bad aura. I suggest others do the same.
