Honestly, I only gave BDO one star because I didn't have the option to give them none. My experience with BDO was absolutely terrible!! I went to BDO to take care of my bankruptcy. While the woman who opened my file was great, it quickly went downhill from there. First, they did my taxes wrong, and when I brought it to their attention, they made me feel like it wasn't a big deal, and I didn't even get an apology. To make matters worse, when I asked how long the reassessment process would be, they told ME to call and find out even though it was their mistake. Fast forward almost a year later (and MANY letters from CRA shaming me for not paying my outstanding taxes I DID NOT owe), I get my reassessment only to find out there was ANOTHER error on the filing by BDO!! Again, I brought it to their attention with a very icy response and again, ZERO apology. Even when I was discharged, NO ONE even bothered to follow up with creditors that I included in my bankruptcy to see if everything was up to date on their end. I had to find out after getting DECLINED for an apartment (incredibly embarrassing) that not a single creditor had updated with the credit bureau, and showed the entire amount I owed outstanding with NO payments for close to 2 years! When I brought this to the attention of BDO, I was told they can't force creditors to update their files. No, but at the very least, BDO could have had the courtesy to CHECK and see if the process had even taken affect prior to sending me on my way. I actually had to contact MNP LLP to help me sort out this mess, and in 5 minutes, they gave me the answers and direction that ALL employees at the Clayton Park branch failed to give to me. I even brought this to the attention of Phil Clarke, a Partner, who didn't EVEN BOTHER looking into this whole mess (even though he ASSURED ME he would). It wasn't until I sent him numerous emails asking for a reply that he finally replied and STILL didn't even respond to the issues I brought forth!! I enquired about a refund, since I did not feel I got the services or respect myself and my file deserved, and was met with a cool NO. I wouldn't recommend BDO to my worst enemy, the service and experience was that revolting.
