The line was fairly short, but the whole system of clearing a reservation and getting the customer their keys is so poorly designed that it literally took them 30 minutes to go through 3 customers. The staff seems nice, and the cars are good. However, who ever designed the processing of customer check ins needs to seriously get some outside help. Airlines, hotels and everyone else find ways to clear customer check ins in literally seconds of time. One minute or less including verifying ID and whatnot. Hertz will be a customer service nightmare as long as they don't reconsider how to quickly and kindly process their checkins.

Wife books upgraded car weeks ago, they say they have none but won't upgrade further, then the POS they put her in breaks down 100 miles from Calgary! Their solution for my stranded wife, in tears from traveling since 5am (it's now 7pm)? Only to send a tow truck to bring her 100 miles BACK to Calgary so she can then drive the same 100 miles AGAIN to get to where she broke down, then another 100 miles to her destination! Would not send an employee with a good car for her, who could then ride back in the tow truck to save my poor wife 200 unnecessary miles of travel! Complete and total idiots!!! Hertz used to be a Premium car rental company, but these morons at the Calgary airport are the worst I've ever seen. All I can say is if they're willing to treat a stranded lady this way, there's no limit to what they'll fluff off! ***UPDATE*** I called Hertz National Customer Care and raised Cain. They had some sense and finally agreed to handle it correctly. So, what kind of discrimination is it where the lady in tears gets NOTHING and the angry husband gets them to jump through hoops?? Shame on the idiots at Hertz Calgary for their carelessness and crappy attitude towards a woman they mistreated from the moment she walked through the door! And the icing on the cake, instead of pulling from the Red Deer location, 5 minutes away, they will only pull from the airport location, 2 hours away. Unbelievable.

Georges with an "s" gave great customer service. Car rental was quick, easy and fast. Will use Hertz again.

Beware this location. Despite not having Emergency Roadside Service listed in my preferences (Gold member), I was charged for the service when I returned the car (PERS as listed on your bill). They will give you a carbon copy style document to sign that makes no reference of the service, then hope you don't look at the printed version they give you that states you are now being charged for that service. I wasn't expecting a company that I have frequented to try and cheat me, but buyer beware as this seems to be the current state of things. If they are willing to screw over a loyal member of their rewards program, then they are willing to screw over any average person that tries to rent through them. In addition, there were only 2 people in line in front of me at the Gold club desk, and it still took 45 minutes for me to get my car. Good luck trying to rectify things with their phone support either.

Service was lacking. Had to wait a long time even though I am a good member. Person at the desk was maybe not having a good day. They weren't rude but they never smiled either. So kind of a meh experience. The car they gave me was good though. I wish they had the service where you can add a driver over the phone. We were asked to come in and add the driver and it just wasn't feasible for us to so given that it was an airport location. Would rent from here again but overall kind of a mediocre experience.
