We just rented a car for a one-way trip from one location to another from Alamo. The first thing that we were asked when we came to the counter is if we wanted to purchase an upgrade to a larger car; the sales person really pushed this (more comfortable ride & safer). Then he pushed us to purchase the insurance through Alamo because if something happens they now charge depreciation while a car is in the shop and most insurances (your own auto insurance that covers rental cars) won't cover that cost. Then he tried to sell us GPS and Sirus radio. All together an additional $50+ to what we had reserved. We declined all those extras.; to which he visibly changed his friendly attitude toward us At the end of the trip in dropping off the vehicle we found out that the vehicle that he had given us had been an upgrade in size category - they must not have had what we reserved and instead of telling us that and giving us the upgrade, he tried to get us to pay for that. That isn't right! Now, to get to our BIGGEST negative. They gave us a car where the odometer was off by 12 - 15 mph (going that much faster than it said). On the whole trip we followed the speed limit by setting the cruise control. Several times we actually mentioned that we wondered why others were driving so slowly with the posted speed limits. Then we got pulled over by a cop - speed limit zone of 50, we had cruise set to 51 and officer said we were clocked at 63. WOW!! That is scandalous!! The officer believed us and did not offer a ticket, but not only could we have had a ticket on our record we also were a danger on the road. Not happy with our Alamo rental experience!!

I reserved a mid size SUV. When I went to pick it up, Kasey informed me that the midsize was unavailable. Kasey upgraded me to an Expedition at no charge. I was also informed that I didn't have to return it full of fuel. This is called making it right and taking care of the customer! Thank you!

I had a very positive experience renting from this location and was impressed that my SUV rental was actually more like a truck as I had a Toyota Four Runner which was critical for exploring safely in and around Kalispell. The desk attendant was kind and unlike other rental car places, you just drive off the lot once you get your car!
