Tina is, bar none, the best person I’ve ever dealt with at a car rental agency. Maybe that’s a low bar to clear but she’s reliably been helpful and thoughtful every time I’ve rented from Practicar in Victoria. The affordable price only sweetens the deal. If you’re on a budget, this is your best option for a car on the Island by a long shot!

Tina at Practicar was incredibly helpful in accommodating our need for a vehicle for 3 weeks on Vancouver Island in the height of summer. She did everything she could to get us the best car to suit our family and to reduce the cost to us. We’d have no hesitation in using Practicar again next time we’re in Victoria.

I would give zero (0) points if it was possible. Don't rent a car here! I was on vacation in Victoria and rented the so called "luxury SUV" on June 20, 2022. What I got was the oldest Ford Flex I have seen. This inside was soo irritating and dirty, I almost vomited. After driving a few meters (less than 10 mins at 50 km/h speed), the car started to bring out smoke from the bonnet. Apparently, all the coolant water leaked out already. I thought the car would catch fire. Ran out of the car with my family. Called Tina, who arrived approx. 1hr later. She managed to get us in a taxi which took us to our hotel. She promised a full refund and later confirmed the refund have been processed. After 1 week has passed, I did not receive any refund. I called to complain but she said the money left her account already and that she has processed it. After 2 weeks have passed, I still haven't received the refund. Then I asked for a refund receipt. She was not able to provide one. She then said she thought I was someone else. She said she gave the same car to another person after my experience. The car broke down in the same manner for this other "victim" as well, but the she processed their refund - so she thought it was me. After a lot of forth and back, including threatening to involve the police, she eventually processed my refund. In short, she rents out dirty dangerously faulty car to people, and tries to keep the money! Please like this comment or share your experience if this has happened to you as well. As far as I know, this has happened to my family and at least another person/family.

Fantastic!! They were so friendly and helpful. The van we rented was clean and new and exactly what we wanted. The price was very reasonable (It was worth taking a cab from the airport to the rental garage downtown) I recommend practicar over the big rental guys. Also they offer full bumper to bumper insurance if you want it, so if anything at all happens you won’t have to deal with it.

Tina is the best in the business! We called her with our last-minute rental request and she worked hard to find us the perfect car for our trip. When we ran into a difficulty (self-inflicted) she was immediately available to troubleshoot us through it. Practicar is now our go-to rental agency. Great cars and genuine, top-notch customer service!
