Special mention of Shiv and Ivan from National Car Rental at the Pan Pacific Hotel. As a frequent renter, they always remind me why I choose to rent from them every single time whenever I need a car. Update: it seems like things have changed in the recent past causing this location to be rather disappointing. Was offered an upgrade to a pickup truck once which might be an upgrade to some, but definitely not for city driving. Now, this is just a typical enterprise location which also happens to rent on behalf of national, so expect enterprise treatment at national prices. Update again: I had a conversation about this with the manager, and it seemed like, in both occasions the location was genuinely sold out, and that they still seem to be an excellent location, I just happened to have catch them at a bad time. Staff such as Mohammed continue to be fantastic to deal with, as always.

Had a nightmare of an experience at this branch. First, good luck getting anyone on the phone. Took at least 15 calls over a 30 minute period. Second, the check in process was botched. No one at the front desk for 5-10 minutes. Then once you're checked in, they send you down a few floors to the hotel parking garage where you go on a vehicle hunt to find your rental amongst all the other cars in the hotel garage. No one is in the garage to do an inspection with you so I'm getting the blame for a shallow dent near the bottom of the passenger door that is hard to notice (see picture - I'm fighting a $1600 charge for this!!! infuriating). Third, there wasn't a validation ticket in the vehicle like I was told and the employee had already left for the day when I went back to the kiosk. That had me stuck in the garage for a bit longer. Total check in time took over an hour. Enterprise/National will be losing an emerald customer for both business and personal travel primarily due to the outrageous charge that I'm certain didn't happen on my watch. If they can't even answer the phone, what makes me think they can do a proper inspection after the previous customer checked the vehicle in? Avoid this branch.

The Canada Place National Rent A Car is in the Canada Place Parkade. To find it, search for "Canada Place Parking" in Google Maps--it is the search result called "WestPark Canada Place" with street address of "999 Canada Pl." If you follow Google Maps, it will take you there. Drive north on Howe St until it turns into W. Waterfront Rd-- that is where the entrance to the parkade is. Ask the traffic authorities stationed at the entrance how to get to National. It is at level P2 of the garage. Follow the signs in the parkade to get to National. See the attached photos for reference.

This is from a frequent car-renter. Man what a great experience I have had with National car Rentals at Pan Pancific. Ok, it might be difficult to find for someone without feeling of directions. But common we are at Vancouver, everything is difficult to find. Back to the story; We rented a Dodge Charger for our visite to Canada, what a great car. But the service from the staff was even better, especially from the two guys at the service desk in the parking lot(they rock). At first the Dodge was not available due to a planned oil-change. But after noticing that I'm a carguy ( because a carguy rather drives a Dodge than a Hyundai) he made sure the car got his oil change within a hour. They made our holiday so much better! If the staff from national car rentals/enterprise is reading this; we really appreciate your great service, thank you. Keep it going, you really have the power to make people happy. If the boss is reading this; give those guys a raise!!

If national / enterprise was the only rental company left on earth I would rather get to my destination via a wheelchair with flat tires. Save your money and go somewhere else. Me and a group of 5 traveled to CAN...aside from taking an hour to have someone answer the phone...we are being billed for damages to a vehicle that we never did. No pre trip inspection or documentation. If you ever rent here take a complete walk around and take pictures...These people are con artists.
