They are thieves and crooks. It has taken me almost three weeks to get a full refund after they erroneously over charged me for an extra day. and they attempted to shaft me three times. From my interactions it seems that there staff are incompetent and lazy, not only that there activities bordered on criminal. I was understanding when the charge first appeared on my card as mistakes happen. However when I was only refunded part of the fee I started to see how poor there service department really is and what a mistake it was to ever deal with them in the first place. On my second interaction with them I was told these additional fees where not included in the original price and wold not be refunded. This was completely false as the charges where for the extra day and should have been refunded too. So twice you tried to steel from me. After I reviewed the receipt I was sent from the ignorant woman I had the displeasure of dealing with first thing in the morning I noticed this blatant fraud and contacted there offices for the third time (Vancouver international Airport) and talked to the "night Manager" Sarhad (though I doubt any of the information he gave to me) who completely denied that they'd over charged me at all and was more useless than an umbrella in a hurricane, suggesting that I reply directly to the email from there head office, which I did to register my utter disgust of his (and Dollar rent a car in generals) attitude and my contempt for there sorry excuse of professionalism. On my fourth call to them I got through to possibly the only competent member of there staff who issued me with the full refund. It should not be this difficult to secure my money when they had over charged me. In any other circumstance this would be straight up theft and the continued attempt to withhold my money goes beyond any reason. They are fools and I will never do business with anyone even remotely related to there organisation again.

Rude , unfriendly workers. Did not explain the pre auto inspection. When I go back to the counter , the agent is serving other customers. He looked at me and told me just write it down and then he will sing it. While I grab the pen, he was saying: oh I don’t think she understands. And the other customers laughed and said yeah. I feel very comfortable . Unbelievable ! I will never come back with such a bad customer service!

I reserved and pre-paid for a full sized SUV (Jeep Grand Cherokee or similar) online for myself and travelling companions. When I arrived, one month later, they claimed to only have a small Rouge. The Rouge was horribly undersized for the group I was travel with. They claimed that there was nothing they could do and I could take it or leave it. So we took it and dealt with the small vehicle. When I returned the Dollar agent sprung nearly $100 in additional charges onto my credit card. They claimed that their online site did not accurately reflect all the charges. Certainly this issue will be taken up with Visa. Do not rent from these thieves, do not trust these thieves, do not give them you credit card number. Rent from anyone else who will not bait and switch the availability and will not steal $100 from you once you drop off the car.

I’ve got to give Dollar a fair review from my recent experience using them. We travelled from Scotland to Calgary for a wedding in Saskatoon and wanted to do the Rockies, Banff, Lake Louise and Edmonton before traveling home from Vancouver. We picked up the car at Calgary and were disappointed with the cleanliness of the vehicle there was bug residue on the windscreen and an unsavoury smell inside but a car wash and an air freshener soon sorted that out. Biggest gripe was the antenna for the radio was missing and we didn’t notice until our first stop in Saskatoon!! 3,500 km’s with no radio wasn’t great! Also the car was possibly 2 - 3 years old with 55,000 km’s I’m the clock so the brakes were not great especially traveling through the Rockies!! In Scotland rental cars are never more than 6 months old and this is because of the type of people that hire and drive them! Plus points pick up and drop off was hassle free fast and efficient and had an amazing time visiting and awesome county.
