Arbutus is willing to play with the price to help get you into your dream RV instead of just any thing to put a commission in pocket. Approximately two weeks ago I was in the area and stopped into the Merville location for an RV accessory. This locations customer base would normally be making the 25 minute drive from Courtenay or Campbell River to shop there. There were no less than 4 staff present behind the various counters and desks. All diligently working away on computers with no customers aside from myself. Unable to find what I was looking for, I did another full lap through all the isles. Taking note that not one staff member acknowledged I was even present and not wanting to interrupt the important work that was being done, I walked out. In need of a different component for my RV, I thought I would give this business another chance as maybe it was just an off day during my last visit. I call ahead and determine they had what I am looking for. I drove the 20 minutes to the location, walked in and was happy to see that the reception desk girl said hello as I passed to the parts/service/sales area. 3 staff on computers and one on the phone, with no other customer present. An exact repeat of the scenario from my previous and first visit to this business occurred. Again, not one staff member said a word to me (reception desk aside) and the only one that looked up while I was scanning all the isles was the guy at a sales desk on the phone. Didn't smile, not a head nod, nothing. At that point I came to the conclusion that this business doesn't need new customers or their money. They will not get 3rd opportunity with me. This business needs to realize that most RV parts can be ordered at a lesser cost with free shipping from Amazon.ca and other online sources. The difference that will bring customers to this brick and mortar location where they may pay a little more for the accessories and spend little more time getting there, is the personal service component. My recommendation is buy online like I ended up doing and skip the wasted time and gas needed to get to this location.

I recently bought a new travel trailer from the Merville Arbutus RV. After camping in it for a few days, a few deficiencies appeared. I contacted them and they fixed everything up perfectly so I can now enjoy an amazing camping experience. Thanks to the whole crew!
