Make sure you have a CREDIT card. They will take your money to hold your rental, but when you come to pick up will not let you take it with a debit card... cost us several hours of our day.

Prices are cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately I had to make an emergency trip to Michigan because my grandmother had passed away and I was trying to get to her services. I had never had to make arrangements for a rental especially one that's hundreds and hundreds of miles away and in the somber state me and my family were in. When I first approached the rental desk the lights were off and I thought "Great, they are closed...now what?" but then I noticed there was a sign on the counter stating to go to the rental desk right next door which happen to be Hertz. An African American gentleman proceeded to take me as his next customer so I gave him my name and gave him my card and drivers license, right away he said "no, we don't take that card" and I said "what do you mean you don't take that card, a charge of $97.80 has already been taken out by your company." Right away he didn't want to "deal" with the situation and said let me get you the manager. An older woman comes out and tells the guy "ok what did you need" and he tells her "these people or couple here want to talk to you", which it was my brother and I. First of all she already had a look of disgust and as if she was being bothered and then she was like "Yes, what's going on?" I explained to her what the guy had told me about the card and that charges had already been taken out and that I was having problems with Thrifty's website because it kept kicking me out and not letting me do the final steps to complete the reservation when I was trying to do my reservation for a rental to go to my grandmothers funeral and she just didn't want to hear it. She kept cutting me off and just kept saying "You should've read the terms and agreements!" They were very rude and had no consideration what so ever. I don't even have enough words to describe how upset and distraught I was with the whole situation! Not being able to get the proper help and just thinking "I'm coming all the way from San Antonio, Texas I'm in Flint, Michigan, I still need to travel to Midland, Michigan, AND there was nobody there to help me. I put myself back together for a few minutes, walked away because I couldn't bear the treatment she was giving us and walk across to Enterprise Rentals for help. I could barely finish typing this out because it kept taking me back to those moments of frustration mixed in with mourning of my grandmothers passing away. I hope and pray that no other customer has to go through what we had to deal with that day.
