An unauthorized and unknown charge of $350 for a security hold was put on my credit card. I have given my credit card to other rental companies but my card is never actually charged the security hold if car is brought back in the condition it left. This car came back as we got it and now I have to await the 350 charge to be returned back to my card. This is also a 350 charge that we were not made aware of. Don't bother calling AVIS customer service. They can't tell you where in the rental agreement you initial this fee that is at the discretion of each inidvidual company I might add. But even the Supervisor at AVIS customer service stated we should of never been charged more than 200 as our rental was only $56, no extras and we filled up. After I asked Customer service 5 times where on the rental agreement I authorized a $350 charge/hold on my Credit card that the young man at the counter ALSO failed to mention she refused or couldnt answer and basically insinuated I was lying as I was told. Even though she apolohized 5 min earlier that I wasn't. She then said it was in the rental jacket and hung up on me. I guess in their eyes if you are given the rental jacket as you are walking out the door then consider yourself informed. $350......Never! Read your small print folks if you deal with this company. But according to the jacket.....you should be informed of the fee and it is suppose to be on the rental agreement. Neither was done! We'll stick with Enterprise. So helpful, never rude and everything up front!
