I have preferred Enterprise wherever I go, but this time I rented from one in Petoskey and found them difficult to deal with. They were very busy with holiday bookings, so maybe that contributed. However, one thing that bothered me is that because they are closed on Sunday, even though I returned my car at 9:30am on Sunday, I was charged through Monday because they weren't open. I took a photo of the car parked in their lot when I dropped off, but they said since they were closed on Sunday, they did not have use of the car until they reopened on Monday? What kind of logic is that? Other car rental places allow for dropping on Sunday and time stamping your return. This one said my contract ran until Monday and anyway I got a good rate because of a University discount. That's no excuse. It sounded kind of flip. I didn't feel special at all. There are other rental companies the University discount covers, and they are at the airport, so I will check on those other companies in the future. Not satisfied with this particular experience but overall Enterprise and National have been my go-to rental companies. I was also told that the rental would not count on my Enterprise account towards promotions and upgrades because I reserved through the university. I told them I called the national office and was told to tell them when I reserved to credit me with the rental usage on my Enterprise account but the man at the desk again declined. I will have to call the national number again if I want that resolved.

Both Sara and Ben were very helpful when my car broke down. They got me a car right away. I also had to extend my rental and there was no problem there. I will rent from Enterprise when ever I need a car. Thanks Bill DeVault
