Flew into Minot for a funeral and rented through National. Flight was delayed out of Minneapolis and I called the front desk to let them know I would be late coming in and if anyone would be at the desk when I arrived? The answer was YES there will be someone there. Upon arrival to Minot there was NO ONE at the desk so we asked the Hertz guy if anyone had been there. "They left about a half hour ago" was the response. Hertz was all sold out of cars. 2 other National customers were standing at the counter with the same issue of renting and no representative was present. We all called the managers number listed on the card and no answer that night. I had to take an unplanned taxi to a hotel then wait on a family member to drive 3 hours at 1am to come get me so I could make the funeral at 10am the next day. Called and left a message with the manager and still have yet to receive a phone call. Horrible customer service and follow through. I rented through National for the price and as they say "you get what you pay for" ended up costing more in the end due to the extra costs and travel for a family member.

Absolutely horrible service. We went in this morning with a reservation and the 'lady' working was incredibly rude and unwilling to help. Even though we worked with her and supplied her with all the necessary identification she continued to be incredibly rude and the entire time made us feel as though we were a complete burden. We've always gone with Enterprise and after today we will definitely be sticking with them.

I inadvertently messed up my reservations and got a call at unexpected time asking when I was bringing my car back. I thought National had screwed up at the time. The Manager cleaned it all up. Then when I went to pick up my car (on the date I though I made the reservation), of course there was no record. The Manager helped his workers through the issue and got me a car anyway. Donnie Ayers is the Manager - he did a nice job.

the only reason they get 3 stars is becuse of there morning personal. So i made a reservation 3 days in advance for a 1 way car rental to pick up at 10pm. they close at 11:45 pm so when i was running late i thought oh well (i did try calling 4 timea to get no awnser) I arrived at 10:40 pm 40 minutes late and there night time personal left... Thats right just left. Now im a emerald member and my phone number is on file... knowing i was suppose to be there at 10pm you would think if nothing elae i would have gotten a call. But i got nothing. So i had to call there 1800 number to be told there was nothing they could do that night. So i had to impose on my uncle yet agian to let me atay at his home and drive me back 45miles agian the next day. When i get there in the morning the lady there was very nice and told me it wasnt the first time the night time personal had been complained about. So why is she still there if thats the case? All in all this 1 rental cost me personaly 1 1/2 days of my time anf im a truck driver. I was supppse to be back in michigan that Sunday morning for qork but whont get there untill monday night so im going to losr 1 of my loads (789 dollars in pay) as i cant meet yhe delivery date now. Also uou would think the very least they could have dome was comp my rental but they didnt. Im leaving this harsh review becuse i rent alot from national car rental. Alot and this has by far been my worst experience. So if you come in late be prepared to wait untill the morning for your car. I will be contacting tge 1800 corporate office to further pursue my loss from this rental.
