Going out of business sale. Fairly picked over. Sad to see it go.

Whatch out. Customer service zero. Based on earlier reviews, it appears this is not the first time customer service failed at this store. We were dissuaded from inspecting the candle holders we bought a few days ago as it was allegedly already inspected by the attending staff while we were grabbing other items. The lady should have waited for us to be there before inspecting. I don't know if it was purposeful or unintentional, but when we got home we found it to have lots of unsightly bubbles and a chip in the glass, making it unsuitable to keep or for gifting. We called for a possible swap and were asked to come to the store to speak to a manager. When we went we were told to come back in the week to speak to a manager. We could have been told over the phone to come on Tuesday if they knew nothing could have been done that same day as we live 40 minutes away. The lady who served us was rude for no reason and made us feel we were lying. I highly encourage them to check their security video which will show were were truthful with our story. It is about ethics and moral standards, which they seem to lack at that time. Since we are not the type of people who would regift defective or broken items even if brand new, we returned the item without any refund and wished them Merry Christmas. One of the ladies said ok and abruptly took it without a show of gratitude for the gesture. That is their customer service. They are closing down and so i understand their frustration but that is not how honest customers should be treated. There was no need for them to be impolite as we were respectful in our demeanor. Should one of the two attending ladies decide to take the item home with them, I hope it would teach them some ethics and remind them of the value of not wronging someone, showing politeness and being grateful. Anybody considering to buy something from bowring, please inspect the items yourselves and insist even when you are told that is it good and ready to go. Their standard may not be at par with yours and you could end up being unhappy, like us, with your purchase. They don't care about customers anymore and about what is right or wrong. That is how we were made to feel. My mistake was to trust the lady and so my politeness and trusting nature got the better of me. So watch out.

Another one bites the dust. I actually tried to search for this store recently and no matter how hard I tried, nothing would come up! Market Mall used to have both this & Bombay.

The store is closing. There isn't much stock left to buy.
