When is a box furniture store present to be in.

Dec 14, 2015
We had been looking for new living room furniture, and tried other stores (and a bad one - we will avoid G&H in future), but nothing really suited our taste. I had dropped into Merit a couple of months previously, and was welcomed by Gary, the salesman, who was most informative and helpful - even though I wasn't in the mood for buying. When my 'other' decided it was time to replace our old sofa, etc, we found just what we were looking for at Merit. Sure, Gary was there to help us but he did not overwhelm us by following us around and forcing himself onto our conversations (as another had done - see G&H as above), but let us plonk our butts all about, and he would come over and assist us when we asked. Gary is an intuitive salesman, and 'twigged' what we wanted - and made us a deal we couldn't afford to miss, sweetening the deal with a couple of 'perks', like leather-cleaning compounds. He kept the furniture for us over about 3 weeks, until we were ready, carefully wiping the leather - and getting a specialist man to clean it when we found marks that had been made by other prospective purchasers. Gary really worked hard for is to have what we wanted - and put up with us calling in every week to check on its condition and to make sure we had chosen the best for ourselves (and what we think is the best in the store). Perhaps other people have had unfortunate experiences - there's no telling what some will find wrong - but we have nothing but praise for Merit, and for Gary its ambassador.
