We purchased a leather sofa and loveseat with an extended warranty from Dufresne. Within a year the cheap vinyl in between the seat cushions is cracked. We should have purchased some container furniture from China because it's the same quality. We foolishly believed that the Winnipeg made furniture would be worth the extra money. As I said FOOLS. The retailer Dufresne has given us nothing but a circus show and doesn't want to stand behind what they sell. In the end Dufresne has resolved the issue completely. We thank Dufresne for stepping up and doing the right thing during a disappointing situation. Thankfully we were able to replace the Palliser furniture.

Our 8-piece custom Riley in 100% leather in classic sable, sectional fits our space exactly as designed. The custom design of palliser pieces allow for fitting around tight spaces and architectural features that buying off the showroom floor doesn't. So happy with the colour match to swatch and the movement in the recliners.

This was am email sent March 15 2015. There was no response however the couch was replaced for the fourth time. We have now had the fourth couch leg extension mechanism fail. This email went unanswered I have contacted Paul Durault (sp?)the warranty supervisor a week ago and had no call back. I let there follow up speak for them! Only Reason we gave it two stars is we like the couches cant believe we are the only people having this problem!! Good Morning Mr. Krieg, My name is Jeff Newhouse and I am writing to you in reference to a Palliser Westpoint love seat and a couch that we( Diane Cropsey and myself) purchased through Southernmost Furniture , Fred Sellers. After many months of looking, we decided on the Westpoint couches. We were very excited to receive them after the 8-10 week order time. We took delivery of the couches on December 19 2014. We were very happy with our selection and comfort of the couches. With in the first week we noticed the love seat was leaning "out" when reclined. We weren't sure what the reason was and did not investigate until the leg rest would not lock back under the love seat. Upon investigation we found that one of the long angled scissor supports had bent in a 90 degree angle and was interfering with the action. We talked to Fred at Southernmost Furniture and he quickly responded and picked up the love seat to repair it. After inspection Fred's shop determined that a whole new mechanism needed to be ordered and would be about 6 weeks. He offered to bring the loveseat back in the mean time. We declined and chose to use an air mattress in the mean time. During this time, we also noticed the couch started lean outward when reclined and ultimately the same bend in the mechanism arm happened, not just on one end, but both ends and both of the arms in the center of the couch. Now we have a couch that both sides are in the "permanent reclined" position. We contacted Fred again and he ordered us two new couches from you which we are expecting in a few more weeks. We received the repaired love seat on February 27. The next morning, after watching TV on it the night before, we noticed the one side where I was sitting was just starting to lean out. Upon in inspection we noticed that the linkage with red bushing, attached to the arm that has been bending, was starting to move laterally towards the center of the couch (deform). So after one night of use the deformation of the frame that leads to the catastrophic failure of the arm began. We called to inform Fred of this latest problem and express our concern again, that after we go through getting the replacement couches, that we may keep having the same problem. He suggested to contact you directly to discuss the situation. Granted I am not a small guy at 6'3" 275lbs. I have two secondhand reclining couches from my brother that are rounding the twenty five year mark with out any issues except the upholstery and foam are wearing out. We have no children jumping up and down on the couches. I relegated my self to sitting on the floor rather than the repaired love seat or the permanently reclined couch. Are you confident that the new couches will not have the same problems? We find it hard to believe we are the only ones having this problem. We love the couch and the love seat from the look and comfort and the style, but can't have them start to fail in one day. We asked about a heavier duty mechanism and Fred told us this was as heavy as the come. Photos attached are respective: Left side repaired love seat ( note location of linkage with red washer or bushing), right side repaired love seat after one night(again note red linkage moving towards center of love seat), left side couch failed, middle couch failed, right side couch failed. All failures of bent arms were preceded by the linkage bending inward or away from arm. Thanks for your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing from you. Diane and Jeff
