I recently bought a reconditioned 24 inch stove at Wyse Buys. I was told by the store owner that it had been fully bteconditioned and was in proper working order and has a warranty for 3 months. He knew I was taking it to Annapolis Royal. When I got it back to Annapolis Royal I discovered that the left front burner does not work and on further investigation, discovered that the elecrtrical lead that attaches to the burner is so worn & cracked it doesn’t work and clearly had not been replaced as part of the reconditioning process. I called the owner and explained the situation and that this part of the repair was missed in the reconditioning. He said that rarely happens and told me to bring it back for repair, which makes no sense given where I live. . He then advised that they only provide service in the Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford area and that there are signs to that effect in the store. He told me I can bring it back & his technicians would fix it. That is a 4 hour round trip driving and would require me to rent a van. I suggested that perhaps I could get a local repair person to do the repair. He said they only use their own technicians & to bring it back to the store. To me, this is very bad customer service and this store has demonstrated that they don’t stand behind what they sell. He never pointed out at the time of purchase that their warranty doesn’t apply to people from my area, and told me I should have noticed the signs. I recommend exercising caution in considering purchasing from Wyse Buys. They are very nice while you are buying but have a “don’t care attitude” once the sale is made. I was a good customer and also bought a couch & a stove, and had planned to buy more. Based on my experience, I will never buy anything from Wyse Buys again. Their business name is a complete misnomer and it was not a “Wyse Buy” to deal with them.

Efficient and straightforward advise on appliances. Fair prices on refurbished machines.

Some good deals to be had here

I wasn’t overly impressed by this store, there was some good selection of new and used furniture, but the prices were not in line with their quality. The salesperson was nice, but there was only one person, who was talking to two people and didn’t seem overly interested in helping me out, so after 10mins of waiting and doing two laps around the store I decide to leave and go to Ikea, where I got what I wanted for less and the same quality of what was on offer in the store. They may need to step up their game or I can’t see this place lasting much longer.
