I have waited long enough to share my story publically about how Leon's Scarborough has treated me as a customer.
I had furniture delivered to my home: a sofa, chair, coffee table, end table and dining room set.
The two delivery people had difficulty getting the sofa through the doorway. They attempted to push it through even though the sofa would not budge. Eventually, they removed some of the cushions to get the sofa into the house with ease. As a result, they scratched my freshly painted wall in the main hallway. A few days before the delivery, we had our entire house professionally painted.
After the furniture was delivered and the truck left, we noticed the damage on the wall. We called Leon's Scarborough to notify them of the scratch on the wall and the person I spoke to (Danish) told me that the drivers would have to come back to my house to do a report. This report would have to take place another day. We agreed that the following Thursday worked for both of us. That day, no one showed up to do a report. I waited hours for them to come to my house during their scheduled time frame.
Eventually, I called Leon's to ask why no one had showed up. Again, I spoke to the same person and they said the driver had an unexpected family emergency and was unable to come to make the damage report. While I sympathized with this individual and hoped that everything was okay, I explained to Danish that they as a store and corporation should have called me to inform that the drivers were not going to be able to come to my house that day. Instead, I had to call them.
I explained that I was frustrated with their poor customer service. Danish reassured me that they would send the drivers in a few days to make the report. When the drivers finally came to my house, one of them was extremely rude from the moment he arrived. One of the drivers said it was impossible that they scratched the wall. He said that the scratch was likely already there and questioned why I did not report it to them if they had caused the damage. I explained that I did not notice the scratch until shortly afterwards.
As soon as I had noticed the damage, I contacted Leon's right away. This driver's tone was completely unprofessional. I said to him that if he was going to speak to me like a piece of garbage that he can get out of my house. After the drivers filled out their report, I called Leon's Scarborough to file a complaint with the drivers for how they acted. I said that I am very upset and frustrated with their poor service and would like to speak to someone regarding my experience.
Unfortunately, the person responsible for handling these kinds of situations is the same person I was talking to all along. He said he would get back to me after the drivers submitted their report.
Quite a few days had passed and I had not heard from anyone at Leon's. I called multiple times over a span of three days and was told that they are very busy and someone would return my call as soon as possible. A week had passed and still no one bothered to call me. As you can imagine, my frustrations with Leon's Furniture Scarborough continue to rise. I called them again and finally got through to the person dealing with my complaints.
When I asked why no one could be bothered to get back to me, he apologized and said he was busy. When I asked about what Leon's is prepared to do about what has happened, I was told that they would fix my wall; however, their contractor was on vacation. At this point, I told Danish I could care less about the scratch on my wall. It has been weeks since the initial incident occurred. I was hoping they would fix it promptly instead of dragging this out and making matters worse.
I asked him to take this matter to a person of greater seniority and get back to me about how they can right their wrong. Unsurprisingly, I have not heard from anyone for almost a week now.
I will never go to Leon's Furniture Scarborough again. I certainly hope my experience is not a true reflection of the company at large.
