Locally owned store with Quality home furnishings located in Orleans. Many different styles to choose from but it's known most notably for its modern contemporary pieces. With a large selection of canadian made furniture and options for fabrics it's great if your design ideas are specific. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and quick to give ideas. Certain pieces marked as floor models are available at greatly reduced prices. If it says "Take me home today" the pieces are the last item or a floor model, it's greatly discounted and the price shown includes taxes. Some real bargains to be had here.

We enjoyed our experience at the Upper Room Home Furnishings. Michael was knowledgeable about the quality of the products, fabrics, woods and their construction. Service was prompt and courteous. We are likely to become repeat customers.

My husband and I recently purchased 2 rooms of beautiful furniture from The Upper Room on Hunt Club Road in Ottawa. We had several visits to the store, and the staff members we dealt with were very helpful and knowledgeable. When we finally decided to go ahead with the purchase, Kim was a great help in making sure we received the best deal we could. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new furniture. Thank you all.

Overpriced and BAD service. I bought a coffee table from the Orleans location and the staff were not willing to negotiate at all on price, which is too bad considering their furniture is marked up way higher than most other furniture stores. I was told it would be $100 to deliver the coffee table which is totally ridiculous. When I got the call to tell me the table was available to be picked up I was told to bring someone to help me as their staff would not be willing to do so, I would have expected better service than this. When I arrived I spoke to the manager who brought my table out in a box, I payed close to $700 for this coffee table and was not expecting to have to assemble it, when I asked the manager about it he told me it would be $30 for assembly and I would have to come back again to pick it up, he was rude and argumentative. I told him I would be speaking with the general manager who I tried to reach and very conveniently he did not return my call. I also tried to leave a review on their site and again, very conveniently, it would not allow me to save it. The more I looked into this company the more bad reviews I found. I would NEVER shop there again and definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. UPDATE following owner response: I was not notified in advance that the coffee table I purchased would require assembly and this was one of the reasons I was upset about the service, the sales people should be telling customers that they will have to assemble their furniture, I was NOT notified by the sales person that I would have to assemble the table. The sales manager called me only after the reviews were posted and still has not returned my call. The owner response is pretty much in line with the exceptionally low level of service I received, it is argumentative and defensive and it would appear that they did not take into consideration the feedback provided about the problems I encountered with service. A more solution driven response would have addressed how these issues would be managed in future. I imagine the bad reviews will continue for this company as they continue to treat their customers poorly.

UPDATE: After a lengthy conversation with Luc, the General Manager, Upper Room came half way in covering the costs of the couch and waived the re-stocking fees. We are now pleased with the outcome. ------ I want to personally thank Luc, the General Manager, for not returning any of our calls and not dealing with a pressing issue that dates back to November 23rd. I've requested 3 call backs in the past week and this, after Michael, one of the sales reps told me that Luke would contact us last weekend. Thank you again for delivering a couch with half of the options missing, and a broken reclining lever, and then asking us to pay an extra 20% restocking fee ($1200) to get the proper couch that we had originally requested on top of charging us an extra $1400 for the couch, totalling $8000 for a damn couch. Thank you for not delivering the chairs and bar stools that we placed an order on more than 6 weeks ago and was told we would get them in 3-4 weeks. Thank you Luke, Layla, and Michael for your phenomenal customer service. I can't imagine how fortunate Upper Room is to have you work for them. Thank you for fooling us into spending over 10k with you guys and only receiving half the order that was put in months ago. Thank you for the poor service and commitment to your clients we can't imagine ourselves ever stepping foot in your establishment let alone spend another dime with you.
