Do not buy from above board covers. Gwen, the owner, produces an inferior product. 30 gauge plastic that is so defective you can’t see thru it. Poor cuts, mismeasurements, zippers that don’t line up, fasteners placed on the outside the canvass so plastic couldn’t be rolled and clipped. We were in two rainfalls during a recent trip and the canvass leaked like a siv. It was raining harder on the inside of the boat than outside!!!!! Rain poured in the cockpit through every seam and stitch. Everywhere!!!! Anyone wishing to view pics and video of this debacle please let me know and I’ll be glad to share with you. We were told by Gwen that plastic needed to be out in the sun for extended periods of time to clear up imperfections in the plastic....seriously! Then we were told that the top had to be exposed to the rain several times in order for stitching to swell. Wow! 10 gallons of silicone would not fix this problem. Funny, I’ve owned several boats and have new tops made before, never being told by a reputable dealer that all these “smell tests” had to be endured. This is a joke. To roll the tape back further, Gwen was given our boat top back in October of 2017 with the condition that she have the top ready for the launch in April of 2018. The launch was actually delayed till the long weekend of 2018 and she still was unable to complete the job. Yes, 7 months to do a job and could not meet a deadline. Totally unacceptable. There were countless back and forth trips to our marina by Gwen in attempts to try and get things right, putting us now into a July timeframe. Gwen refuses to accept the fact that she produces an inferior, defective and extremely poor product. She also refused to return our money after pleading with her that this top was nothing short of junk! Yes? The customer is always right. As we now turn the corner into July 2018, I am forced to find a new boat top dealer and lose additional summer boating while a new top is made. Under no circumstances will I ever do business with Above board covers again. Stay clear of this business at all costs. Do your research and look for a reputable dealer, one that stands behind their product. Garbage all the way. Small claims court here we come!
