Markham Furniture sells truly top notch furniture at very fair prices. I’m delighted with the couch I bought, and given the construction methods I know they use I fully expect it will last me decades. But much more than that — this is a family business and they clearly take extending their family values to their customers very seriously. There was a minor mix up with the delivery of my couch — or more accurately with the disposal of my old futon. The mistake was thoroughly understandable (to do with correct disposal areas and times and non-transparent regulations) but it left me in a very awkward situation with my condominium corporation management and security, which could easily have escalated into serious difficulty for me. I phoned Markham Furniture and they bent over backwards to fix the problem immediately. And the family values of the company couldn’t have shone through more clearly throughout. I phoned them, trying to reach Michael (who had sold me the couch), wound up speaking to his father Bill (the patriarch and founder of this business), who immediately contacted Joseph (another of his sons who had been one of the men to deliver my couch that morning — and who had been very polite and efficient throughout — this was an honest mistake and really not his fault). Bill promised me the situation would be fixed within an hour. And, incredibly, it was. Joseph must have turned his truck straight around, presumably disrupting their delivery schedule considerably, and come right back to help me. This is a business where, if you tell them there is a problem, they don’t treat you as an inconvenience and roll their eyes and ‘try to get to it eventually’ or ‘see what they can do’, or a thousand other excuses I’ve heard from businesses who had already made a sale, money in their pockets, goods delivered, and basically had no particular reason to try to ‘keep me on the hook’ any longer. No, they dropped everything, and fixed it. No delay, no excuses. They took me seriously, treated me with absolute respect and consideration, and did everything necessary to help me and resolve the problem immediately. I would already have unreservedly recommended Markham Furniture based on the quality of the product they build, the price, and the friendly, helpful service on the showroom floor. Now I can’t recommend them highly enough, because of all of the above, but most especially because when something (even something relatively minor) went wrong, they treated me like family and took care of me.

We have purchased from Markham Furniture more than once because the quality of their furniture is great in our opinion, the people who work there are very knowledgeable, friendly, don't pressure you into buying, warranty, and their custom workmanship is excellent. They are not the cheapest nor the most expensive as other similar high end stores but because you are getting custom made to fit furniture for your house, you know that is what you are paying for versus purchasing from a what you see is what you get store and paying just as much. Also they are a Canadian Company and we need to support our industry as much as possible.

We are so happy with our new sofa and chair. We needed custom fit and needed a particular look to fit with other stuff. Tried at least a dozen different places ... moving further and further afield till we got here and instantly felt in the right place First rate quality. Very acceptable price. Happy!

Markham Furniture is family owned and operated. I am very particular and I worked with Joseph to design EXACTLY what I wanted for our house. The whole process was a pleasure....professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The finished product is classic and expertly crafted. It is worth the extra cost to get a quality product that is made just for you. Highly recommended from all aspects.
