It pains me to have to write this review, since this is a family-owned and operated business and I love supporting local establishments, but I feel like I've been left with no other option. I brought in a dress for dry cleaning, and was quoted a price of $45 (as anyone can clearly see on my receipt). I brought it in over a week ago, and was told to return the following Wednesday or Thursday to pick it up. I decided to wait until Thursday to err on the side of caution. When I returned to the shop, I was told that my dress still had stains on it and that it would need to be re-cleaned. I was then asked to return the following day. I'll "side note" this by saying this was not the first time I was asked to return after an item was not sufficiently cleaned. I didn't make a big deal of it, even though the dress was not ready on time and I had to go out of my way to return. The real kicker, however, was this... When I returned to pick up (and pay for) my dress, I was told that, in fact, it would be $145(!!!), not the $45 I was quoted. I'm sorry. WHAT?!?! When it was obvious to one of the staff that I was extremely bewildered (well, duh!), she told me that I should speak with the owner. I tried to explain to said owner that, as the customer, this WAS NOT my ($100) mistake to bear, and that he should honour the price I was quoted (Twice! Both when I went in the first time and when I returned yesterday), but to no avail. He then took my credit card, started typing $100 into the machine (where he pulled this arbitrary number from, I don't know...), and when I told him not to do that, he basically threw my card back at me and told me not to bother paying anything at all. This was, of course, not the "solution" I was looking for, as I was more than willing to pay what was quoted to me. His daughter quickly intervened with a "Dad, calm down", proceeded to take my card and charge me the original $45. I couldn't believe it. And I honestly still don't. I feel that any good business owner knows this is NOT how you treat a customer, and that you honour a quoted price, even if it's an unfortunate misquote on the business's end. I did not ask for that price when I walked in the door. It was what was presented to me, and I accepted, receipt in hand (as proof). Amazingly, after having the AUDACITY to try and triple charge me, and after returning home and unzipping the garment bag, I came to discover that the dress wasn't even properly cleaned (photographic evidence attached)!!! I have given Brite Star Cleaners a considerable amount of previous business. Sadly, I won't be returning.

the pricing is not transparent and they charge more for women’s products even when there is no extra material or pleats.

Always a great experience. I literally commute from across the city to get my clothes cleaned here. Same-day service is A1. Keep up the great work.

Paid $22 dollars to have my suit and dress shirt dry cleaned. Was ready for pickup within 24hrs as requested.
