My Mom was in River Ridge for several years. When it was sold to Revera the quality of the place went quickly downhill. They've done lots of renovating to make it look nice which is great but we moved her out recently as they were not delivering the quality of care that was required. My Mom has dementia and they were letting her miss a number of meals. Within a week of moving into her new place she had noticeably put on weight. River Ridge staff were inattentive in making sure she was being fed. We were paying for laundry service and even though we told them on numerous occasions that she couldn't remember what the dirty clothes bag was for and that they would have to go through her clothes and wash the soiled ones, it never happened. I remember seeing an old gent in there wearing a totally filthy shirt. Did it not clue in to any of these "professionals" that this gent may need some help in his daily regimen? While Mom was supposed to have monitored weekly showers the chart in the bathroom suggested different and when something was mentioned about why she hadn't showered the bath record was magically back dated to show that she had. Wow, falsifying records though not life and death situation tells a person something about the character of the place. High staff turnover also suggests workers are not happy either in their jobs or in the treatment of the residents. They are more than happy to take your money paying for Cadillac service but the care is, in my humble opinion, lacking. Severely. Some may even say neglectful. I happened to be moving some stuff when they were having an open house. Talk about giving a false sense of what the place is about. Stop in on a non open house day for a more truer feel for the place. I'm sure some people are fine with the place and if their loved one needs minimal care, it may be fine. Our own experience, when more care was needed and paid for I might add, it was not delivered and a definite lack of caring about their residents seemed prevalent.

I have now had the privilege of being associated with River Ridge for over 6 months. My father in law has taken up residency in their Memory Lane care area and we regularly find reason to further praise the residence. Between the facility and the personnel, we find it very easy to give further accolades on a daily basis. I encourage all seniors to give them a look and see for yourself, what they have to offer.
