If I could give this place negative stars I would. My father was only there for 2 days before my mom took him home. He has Lewy body dementia and autonomic failure. He needs full time care, medication at certain times, he’s a fall risk so he’s supposed to have a bed alarm and someone with him, needs help with basic tasks like brushing teeth, going to the bathroom etc. He was given his medication 2-3 hours late or not at all. Diapers were always full. No one helped him do any hygiene or change his clothes. He was found walking on his own all wobbly and nearly passing out a few times. There’s much more and it was only 2 days!!! My mom is not physically able to handle all his needs, it’s very unsafe for her. But the risk he’s at in this place outweighs her safety. What a horrible decision for anyone to make. They could not even do basic care, this is despicable. Attached are some pictures of rusty equipment, only one awkward grab bar in bathroom, a raised toilet seat that is not secured so it moves around and creates a bigger fall risk. The bed was too short for him and the mattress very thin, you can feel the metal underneath.

We have so many good things to say about Bowview Manor. It’s 100% long term care, with many Dementia and Alzheimer residents. (Dementia is a horrible disease where the sufferer loses their personality and their brain capacity.) 1. The staff of Diefenbaker Neighborhood learned Mom’s name quickly, and consistently greet her by name. They have been kind when caring for her, even when I find her moods challenging. 2. Within 6 weeks of her moving in, we were invited to a comprehensive health care review. There were six members of her care team who gave a personalized report; including her doctor, nursing team representative, dietitian, physiotherapist, social worker and recreational therapist. 3. When I had questions about Mom’s Dementia progress, the Social Worker provided resources. 4. The Social Workers set up a support group for several of us who are on the same journey of coping with loved ones with Dementia. It was so helpful to realize that we, as family caregivers, were not alone. 5. The facility is bright, clean and well maintained. We are invited to decorate with pictures that are meaningful to our resident. Providing long term care for Dementia residents is not pretty. Often sufferers are angry and feel helpless. The caregivers at Bowview Manor work hard at being kind, at listening, and at remembering each resident deserves respect. Thank you, Bowview Manor, and especially Diefenbaker neighborhood!

The staff is pleasant and helpful however, after 2 necklaces went "missing", both at almost the identical day and month, the director needs to be more concerned and vigilant about thievery when reported by the family and investigations. No offer of compensation or genuine concern from the facility.

We reached out to these folks about our dad, they seemed super excited to accommodate us, had us come for a tour. We liked the place and they proceed to ghost us. We emailed, called, absolutely nothing back. Super disappointed, I wouldn’t recommend trusting these guys with your loved one.

Medicine for profit is what this place is about. They cut corners and are not following AHS standards and are very very short staffed always. Their staffed is burnt out sometimes working more then 12 hours and extended days. Some staff is also very untrained and very lazy temp fillers. Place is always dirty and I find myself always cleaning the floors and dirty door knobs. Some staff members care a lot and are good people but the management running this facility are truly horrible and always looking to maximize profits and you can clearly see it. Shame on the management for the very poor working and care you are ultimately failing to perform. Also shame on you for the fake reviews people are not stupid! I feel sorry for the staff that works here. Horrible facility.
