Visited my grandmother today and I’m besides myself. She was sitting in her chair which she had urinated in. Towels were dirty with fecal matter on them! This care centre really blindsides you once a loved on is in their care. I wanted to raise this matter with someone and there was no one at the station. I’m worried for her care and it’s like the staff really don’t care about the seniors living there. My grandmother feels lonely and out of place. The staff really need to take care of their physical, emotional and spiritual needs for these seniors to be able to live a life full of love and caring. We as a family try to visit as much as we can because she means the world to us! Walden needs to change their practices!!

A horrible run home , looks good from the outside , but very incompetent staff, and managers. My mom was there 5 months, before she passed away from neglect, and not enough staff.. my mom was found laying on the floor with a broken neck, eye socket, because not enough staff 2 at night plus not using all the safety equipment, fall mat or motion pad for bed, I'll call these places death houses, so please don't let the building and bs that management tells you make your decision for your parents, they hide the fact ,not enough staff, staff not qualified, management not qualified, and owners push to fill beds and that's it,take care of your loved ones for as long as you can ,very sad place..

Beloved Mother and Grandmother. Gone Too Soon I had to share our mothers last days at Age Care Walden. Please read do not scroll this might save your loved one. Her name was Elizabeth, she died September 22/2022 due to negligence. The family took time to search and find the right home to place our mom. Walden was exactly what we were looking for in a long-term care facility. The first day of move in we had a lengthy conversation with the resident care manager Alina. The conversation was the needs of our mother. We discussed her mobility issues, and it made her not steady on her feet, she fell frequently, along with other health issues. The RCM assured us she would be looked after, we left feeling good about the decision to have her live there. Elizabeth was there 7 weeks, and had 5 falls’, her last fall she broke her neck, the break was so bad that her head was no longer attached, her eye socket was fractured along with laceration. Elizabeth laid on the floor dying, calling for help. The conversation we had with the RESIDENT CARE MANAGER hours before her death, was how come there was no fall mats (her answer they are a tripping hazard), how come there was no bed alarm (her answer was it is an annoyance to the patient), she informed us that we are not set up like a hospital. Our mother died a horrific death in this long-term care facility. We entrust our loved ones to these so-called educated people who were provided the tools and failed to use, she died by the hands of this so-called care facility. I use this care term very lightly, because how does this keep happening to our loved ones. Elizabeth was a mother, grandmother who had more life to live, and was cut short due to negligence in a place that was supposed to protect and care for her. We are devastated, heartbroken, and must live with the image of her death that was just horrific. We found out that only two people are on at night to care for all the residents on the 4th floor in long term care, also brought to our attention you can put a camera in the room, you just must inform them. This is the saddest information we found out, the bed alarm goes to the device that the nurse has within 3 seconds of them getting up from the bed, if this would have been done after the second fall, she would still be with us. I ask myself who did it inconvenience. The system is broken, and it starts at the top. This is a quote from their page. -------About Aged Care Age Care is dedicated to creating vibrant senior’s communities that celebrate and support aging with dignity, independence and community interaction. We offer our retirement home and nursing home residents a safe and secure home-like environment where they and their families can be assured peace of mind.

I can't say enough good things about AgeCare Walden Heights. I was caring for my friend, she was 96 years old and she never wanted to live anywhere but her home. She fought the move into SLD4 but after a week in Walden Heights she was happy and wanted to stay. All the staff were wonderful, I simply can't thank them enough for how well they cared for her. The room was spacious, she enjoyed the meals (and she is very picky), and was very happy. The staff have a very tough job but they do it with a smile and are so caring. They spent a lot of time with Z, especially near the end. I felt like they were family.

The care is excellent and COVID has been hard on everyone. The meals leave a lot to be desired. Never see any fresh fruit or salads. Lots of high carb snacks and desserts. Cleaning of corners of the rooms rarely done lots of dust bunnies under the bed and furniture and inside closet.
