The staff and the care at Riverview are amazing. The communication is really great. The staff always knew what was happening with our Dad, communicated important information between shifts so that there was continuity of care and also communicated well with us as a family. Staff took the time to get to know our father as an individual so that he felt seen and cared about. Any time we raised a concern or a question it was promptly addressed.

Riverview Care Home has provided our Father with excellent care. All the staff from the kitchen, laundry, maintenance, housekeeping to the personal care workers and recreation staff and office staff have all been caring and compassionate. They have gotten to know our father in a personal way and have taken the time to care for him and meet his personal needs with respect and dignity. Everyone has always welcomed us , the family, and any questions or concerns or any special accommodations we requested, always making the care and safety and well being of our Father forefront. It would be very hard to find a more caring and loving facility.

The staff are excellent. They are caring and very interactive with all residents. Some people only look for the newest and prettiest. This facility has incredible amount of staff to residents. It's clean and doesn't smell like urine when you walk in like some facilities! Food is good & nutricious. Lots of daily activities. My father is very happy there.

I encourage anyone planning on placing a loved one here, thinking of working here, practicum, etc to do some serious research into this place first. It is an old building that needs more then the occasional can of paint that they throw on the walls, it is in need of a complete reno. A lot of the staff here are bullies, not only to the residents but their co workers as well. I have witnessed practicum students humiliated in front of others, for asking simple questions. I have also witnessed staff gossiping and back stabbing other staff while working on the floor for anyone to overhear. Management is on a constant power struggle with each other, nobody knows what is going on because one will over ride the decision a different person made the day before, it is almost run as if it was a Military when the DOC has her way. This place is constantly running short staffed, Management allows that to, saves them a lot of money at the end of the day. This is at the residents expense, they pay a lot for substandard care. It is also unfair for the HCA staff, they are at high risk for injury and or burn out, that is, the ones that actually work. I have seen a lot of staff sitting at the nursing desks while other staff run to answer bells. This is my personal opinion based on things I and my family members have witnessed in our time there. Please look into this place and ask a lot of questions before proceeding with living or working here.
