What a great place for our seniors. I take my singing group there and always find the staff to be neat and clean and willing to help get residents into the room to come watch. I am aware of the general care of the residents as I have been a caregiver myself and was in activities....so when I say the residents are well taken care of - I MEAN IT!!

My Dad is currently at Lynden Christian Healthcare Center, and I feel very blessed he is here. He suffers from Alzheimer's (borderline stage 6.9 - 7) and had just fallen, broken a rib and then hospitalized for rib and then subsequent pneumonia. Sadly, he was aggressively treated for the pneumonia (we didn't find out he could have had palliative care only til he was "cured"). His functioning was greatly diminished after this whole thing, and we had to place him in a nursing home. Having had him spend short amounts of time (up to a month) at other care facilities, I can honestly say that Lynden Christian is leaps and bounds above any other facility I have seen. The staff is kind and caring and cheerfully hardworking. They really try to listen to the family and the patient even when we are being a bit trying. My Dad is also currently in hospice placement now - and is declining rapidly. This is the hardest time of my life to date, and I can only say that I don't think I could bear it if he were anywhere else but here. If your parent or loved one can no longer be helped at home, this is the only option, as far as I am concerned, in all of Whatcom County where loving family would be as okay as possible with placing a dearly loved parent. The only place. God bless them. Oh, and they are non-profit. They cost the same as other expensive homes - but every dime goes to your family member's care. Not the pockets of shareholders.
