My mother is a resident of the Dewdney Neighbourhood and she is being well looked after. After taking a fall recently (she sometimes forgets to use her walker), the staff assisted her immediately, checked her over, calmed her down and had her sit in the lounge area in front of the Nurses Station so that they could keep an eye on her. I was able to talk to my Mom and she kept telling me how kind all the ladies were. In addition, I've noticed and have thanked the staff for ensuring that she is always nicely dressed when my Dad and I take her out. They take the time to ensure that her clothes are colour coordinated. I understand that things aren't always perfect - in today's world, care homes are dealing with a growing number of residents (many with forms of dementia) and a certain amount of funding. Looking after our ageing loved ones isn't an easy job and my family and I are very grateful for the care that my Mom receives.

Absolutely HORRIBLE place to send your loved ones. The management team especially the director is incompetent no one in management likes to take accountability for their actions they rather throw employees under the bus. Clients are treated poorly. Do yourself a favour find a different care home!

Had an interview scheduled with Kris Baciles(the mental health manager) he completely forgot about the interview and didn’t show up. I sat an waited around for 20 minutes. The front desk staff had no idea of how to get a hold of him. Waste of time, goes to show how unorganized this facility is.

I have read the reviews and though some of the complaints may be justified, depending on the staff member, I feel the overall low rating to be excessive. My mother has been in the lodge since they opened. Overall I have found the staff caring and willing to assist as much as they are able, with the number of staff allowed under Fraser Health. The food has continued to improve and the accommodation itself is large and bright. Unless you are in a “couples” room each resident has there own room.....all of them large enough to accommodate a small sitting area, besides the bed, dresser, and armoire.......and they are kept very clean. Are there some things that need improvement...probably....but the good outweighs the issues.....and Management is always interested in finding ways to keep improving. And positive suggestions and support from the families go a lot further than just complaints.
