I am very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to volunteer at Chartwell Kamloops. Seeing so many happy faces and hearing comments regarding the way staff and volunteers treat people make me really realize that this is more than just a place to live. It is truly a wonderful place for the residents of Chartwell to call home. Something I love about Chartwell is the way the residents are treated with respect and dignity. My favourite part about volunteering here is witnessing the happiness that the residents experience to continue a full filling and exciting life. The various activities and outings that are offered here make for a fun environment and give them something to look forward to on a daily basis. I would especially like to thank the staff and management for valuing our roles as volunteers and including us as part of their team. Thanks Chartwell and keep up the wonderful work.

My mother volunteers at the Kamloops Chartwell. She has nothing but good things to say. All the staff are super helpful and welcoming. She loves spending time with all the residents who seem happy and very comfortable here. The few times I have visited the place is very clean and warm.

Chartwell is a happy place to live in, all the staff are pleasant and professional at the same time. They go the extra mile to cater to our needs, Linda the activities lady is a bundle of energy, nothing is too much trouble, we have had very pleasant experiences on her bus trips. The same professionalism can be attributed to the volunteers who are also hard working and very good at making sure we are looked after. Toni is an excellent manager who makes Chartwell feel like home, not an institution. The Dining room is run like a high class restaurant and Robert has developed a very good menu and if you don,t care for the fare of the day you can always order something else. Al is without a doubt the best maintenance manager we have encountered, most of the time problems are solved the same day, he is always pleasant.

Chartwell is now my home. And I am very proud to call it home. I am always busy with doing all the exciting activities that they have here. I love the dances and all the shopping trips and scenic drives that we go to. The staff are excellent here.

My Mom and Dad moved in after a walk through of two apartments. Both apartments were a two bedroom home which offered them a lot of room and minimal downsizing of treasures and furniture. The apartment was fresh and clean and bright. The complex offers a movie theatre, library, exercise classes everything you would want to offer outgoing parents that had become socially empty in their other home. The move was made easier because of several factors. A full scope of health care specialists that were fully aware and supportive of my parents limitations. Staff that helped us find additional funding that would be helpful against rent. They have become part of my family and are watchful and respectful . Before any decisions were made we had lunch. We enjoyed a meal that dealt with food allergies. We smelled the soup cooking during the morning . So I knew the weight loss the Doctor was concerned with would be reversed because to enjoy a meal we must smell, envision and taste and it was then as it was today a fabulous meal. The Chartwell van is very handy not only for outings, shopping but also medical appointments. Another factor that pleases me to no end is the fact that Residents are happy and engaged. With a great mix of married couples and single residents it is wonderful to watch the friendly interactions between them all. The Residents look well groomed they are well mannered and happy - you just have to take part in a visit whether you are looking for now or soon. Plant the seed. My folks have told me this was the best move of their life they feel cared for in my absence so I too believe this was a great move. Did I tell you about the great volunteers? That is another 5 Star ⭐️ review.
