My father needs to be on a feeding tube for matters of life and death. Providence provides the bag and tubing for the infusion to flow through. Unfortunately, every tubing we tried leaked and we were able to trace the problem to defective products made by Medtronic. A quick Google search will show multiple lawsuits and warnings from the FDA to Medronic over a span of 20 years for faulty equipment causing illness and wrongful death. Providence VNA nurses swore there were absolutely no other companies that produce tubing for the feeding pump my father needs to survive. This is not true, and in fact, Providence is contracted with Medtronic for their supplies. This is a blatant example of putting profit before patient's needs. Providence tried to blame the patient, my father, in every way to try to prove it wasn't their cheaply made equipment that is defective. In my research, I found an alternative locally with Biram to provide a product with integrity. Shame on Providence for using lies and intimidation of a frail elderly patient to further their own market share and profits.
