Usually the care aids they send are professional, caring and well trained, however, this is not always the case. This leads me to suspect that this organization/company does not have a high standard of training for all their care aids.
We had an incident where my grandfather had accidentally knocked over his bowl of food as the care aid was sitting him. The bowl of food shattered all over the floor. The care aid cleaned it up but there was still quite a few sharp bowl fragments on the ground. This was concerning as my grandfather has very poor mobility and could have cut himself on these fragments or fallen if he had tried to pick these fragments up. This obvious hazard that was left behind was really upsetting.
After this incident, I called but the off hour receptionist blatantly disregarded my concerns and told me that it was not part of the care aids job to clean up these messes, however dangerous it was. She told me that it was not part of my grandfather's care plan. I understand that it may not be part of their daily duties to clean up after my grandfather but this was not a daily incident. I am completely appalled that they would jeopardize my grandfather's wellbeing and disappointed in the way my concerns were handled. The receptionist did not apologize, did not show empathy or even acknowledge my concerns.
After the call, I called back because I forgot to mention scheduling details and the receptionist hung on me.
tldr; this company has inconsistency in training or screening of their care aids and does not show empathy.
