I have had the experience of dealing with various care facilities for my parents, and if they were fortunate enough to have resided here their quality of life and happiness would have been substantial. I have had to deal with very unprofessional and bordering on neglect of care aides in several other north shore care homes, but Churchill has wonderful staff and standards.

Well this is a business and they run it like a business. I understand they must make a profit but really it's a nickel and dime you to death if you need more than the basic. Get a box from the front desk to the room is a $29 charge. Need a few meals delivered to your room because you are sick and can't get to the dinning room. Well that will be 9.99 each. This building has no backup generator !! Power was out for 3 days (unusual I know) and the elevators won't operate. Really............most of the old timers here can barely work a level floor. That was 2 years ago and it still hasn't been approved by head office in Toronto. The Health and Wellness Mgr. who works there is not a fan of old people or even anybody, as far as we could tell. She covered the window of the door into her office and wouldn't answer it. The dinning room staff were the opposite, thank god. They were pleasant and what amazed me was they knew everybody's name. Hard working but getting min. wage I bet. There are newer and better places on the North Shore than this.
