I was promised the world but they could not deliver.
First of all the pay is a dollar or two less than average for homecare it just is.
I work for a large local non profit health care provider as an RN. I was looking for one or two days a week in extended home care. Accurate was advertising all sorts of opportunities close to my home. I applied, I was hired right away. Before orientation I had to do a ton of "online training" it was certification compliance sort of stuff. I thought the program could have allowed me to blow through it faster. The CEO of the company makes a point of coming into orientation, he tells you the rebuilding story. He seems like a decent person to me, I have no reason to think otherwise.
So it comes times to choose shifts, clients. The closest match to my home is a 40 minute drive. Its only one of the two days I'm looking for, to fill the other day I'll driving 60 minutes. I ask about the opportunities I saw advertised online. They either don't accept males, one is a male client who doesn't accept males, or they are every weekend NOC shifts etc... Some are e/o weekend NOC. The lady sitting next to me in the BLS class I took later drives two hours to spend the weekend with her client before driving two hours home. She was at the class in the morning after working all night long. So they didn't have any shifts for me. They said things are fluid and change quickly.
I am currently employed as an RN. I am current with my BLS. My employer has their own AHA certified training center, they do not give us cards for free, we have to pay extra. When I began employment at accurate I did not have a physical card. I was scheduled for a class during my lunch break at my current employment location for 12/13 with my current employer. Accurate would not accept the instructor signed AHA BLS certificate of completion and wanted me to take their BLS course at their office which is a 50 minute drive from my home. They told I would definitely get a card, they can't believe I don't have one. I withdrew from my easy 12/13/18 course with my current employer, I took the Accurate course on 11/28/18. I asked about a card. I did not get one, I was told it would be emailed to me. It never came. I did contact training never heard back. My BLS does expire halfway through 1/2019 so I better get this figured out. The nice 12/13 class at my current employer of course was full by now. I had to schedule myself to the same class but at a different location and on my day off. So now I am driving to Minneapolis on my day off to take this BLS course through my current employer. I feel like Accurate tried to strand me with a BLS that wouldn't be accepted at my current employment.
Accurate still doesn't have any shifts that I am interested in working. When I first called and informed the scheduler I thought I was done 3 people called me back on a speaker phone asking what they could do to keep me. They didn't have any shifts. No shifts. The BLS BS. Accurate has COST me money. 30 days after my hire I have cut my losses and just turned in my resignation today.
The people there were nice enough. They advertised all these opportunities. They didn't have any. They didn't accept my signed cert of BLS completion, they also didn't provide me with one or a card as they promised. Now I have to go to Minneapolis to take another instead of on my lunch hour as I was previously scheduled to do. The employees I met at the BLS class looked tired, depressed and were dissatisfied with their employment. Proceed at own risk. At best Accurate is a time and money thief.
