I found this information on their website. Specialized Dementia Care A concept of living in a small intimate homelike environment, especially for people diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. A safe, secure, stigma-free environment where the symptoms of the illness can be addressed in an empathic manner. Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia are not restricted to the elderly. That is why long term care institutions are not the ideal place for most people living with such a diagnosis. Early onset Alzheimer’s is on the rise, therefore it is important that accommodation is available so as to match residents with similarities, for example: age, stage of illness, hobbies, etc. We promote the dignity and self-worth of all our residents, and strive to assist each person so they may enjoy and have an excellent quality of life as defined by the residents themselves, both individually and as a group. We encourage resident and staff group discussions and decision-making. Residents have access to all areas of their home, and self-determination in activities, socialization, and food preferences. This is by no means just a care giving facility. Providing Care From The Heart We promote the dignity and self worth of our clients and strive to assist each person so they may enjoy and excellent quality of life. Organizing each aspect of our clients lifestyle, supporting their need to maintain independent living. Alzheimer’s & related dementia's robs the afflicted person not only of their precious memories, sometimes challenging behaviours appear. It also has the potential to dismantle entire families. We help families cope with the tumultuous transitions, and difficult decisions, helping them to understand that there is no right or wrong. Trust is most important to all of us, therefore we maintain good lines of communication and information systems with family members. Though it is difficult, we have to realize, that because of the way some of these behaviours can manifest themselves, appropriate, alternative accommodation must be found, "a place they can truly be at home "Through innovative & engaging activities and therapies, we strive to keep our residents enthused, hoping to preserve some cherished memories and cognitive skills. Important Key Points Restraint free policy means, No chemical or physical restraints are use within our homes. Committed to providing quality care to the communities we serve.
