My experience with this home for the elderly, from multiple visits to one of the inmates, my relatives, is very, very bad for the following reasons: 1- They do not implement the instructions of the hospital doctors in physiotherapy for the elderly to activate them at all. Not even pass the elderly in his bed. 2- They give the elderly a lot of sedatives without any reason so that they do not ask them to go to the bathroom or for any request outside of mealtime, whether to go to the bathroom for example, so that the elderly stay in a permanent sleep so that the service team can rest from the requests of elderly patients. The family of the elderly to pay more than the cost that the government pays to the home for the care of the elderly. 4- The head of nursing at the home is completely uncooperative with the elderly's family and deals with them with extreme rudeness and disrespect. 5- They do not deal with sympathy or any love for the elderly, or even kindness to their sick condition. Unfortunately, the house is very, very bad, and the administration does not listen to any complaint from the elderly’s family.

After more than 10 years as a family member visiting Villa Forum, I have nothing but the absolute greatest respect and appreciation for this facility. My father was there first. My dad had to be admitted to LTC upon release from hospital. He was diagnosed with dementia and his care while there for almost 2 years was unbelievable. When he was at end of life and staff asked if I wanted him transferred to hospital, I chose to keep him in his "home" on the third floor. His passing was handled with dignity. I'm forever grateful to Villa Forum staff. My mother was admitted to Villa Forum a few months before my dad passed. She has been there for close to 9 years. I truly believe she would not be here at all if it weren't for the outstanding care she receives each and every day at Villa Forum. There is not a chance that I or anyone else could look after all of her needs so well. Her physical needs and more importantly her emotional needs are handled with care. She contracted Covid-19 this past Easter weekend. At 100 years of age, things did not look good. Well, she's a survivor and I'm already planning her 101 birthday celebration next month. This is all possible thanks to her care at Villa Forum. They have a tough job and I would love to see anyone who finds fault to step in their shoes and try to do what they all do so well. I love all the angels who work in this building. God bless you and thank you for taking care of our families like they are your own.

I’m happy to say that my Mom is a resident at Villa Forum. The staff here are fantastic. A few months after my mom settled here I volunteered my time helping out where I can. I was fortunate to be offered a part-time position in the maintenance department working with a bunch of great people. Most residents have now got to know me and it brings me joy to see that I can put a smile on their face.

I worked here through agency and staff can be so rude especially the nurse managers night shift. On my first ever shift I was doing routinely night brief changes with one of the psw who is a permanent staff here and the patient we were changing was total care and not very responsive, so as we were changing I still like to reassure and talk to patient and make them feel comfortable but the psw was like don’t talk to them they don’t understand they are not really here. But I continued to treat the patient as a human as they should be but again the psw was like do you not hear me i just told you these people are not here they are a vegetable they don’t know what you are saying they are like dead stop talking to them. I was so shocked hearing this…and another shift i specifically asked my agency for one on one shift as my knee was paining and upon arrival the night shift nurse manager said work the floor and I said today I can’t that’s why i specifically asked for one on one cause my knee is hurting, and her response was go call WSIB! Sit home if your knee hurts why you here. And then she also proceeded to call my agency and complain why is she here refusing to work floor and then gave me the phone and I spoke to the agency person that i specifically asked for one to one for today as my knee hurts and even my agency was so rude about it and made me go home unpaid. There is absolutely no humanity left in people such heartless souls, why be in this field if you have no heart.

I have been working at Villa Forum for the past six months and it is one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. The management team and staff are passionate and cohesive, and in these times of uncertainty, the only certainty, is that our Residents remain our highest priority. I’m proud to be a part of this team!
