I wouldn't recommend anyone to bring their loved one to live out the rest of there life their

Feel free to read the rest of this review, however in my estimation this one statement says it all – My brother and I (both resident in Toronto) are able to sleep well without worry about the care of our parents since they entered the Rosewood Retirement Residence. After speaking with my parents on various occasions their obvious preferences would be to live at their home in Kingston. Our family (including my parents) agree this is no longer practical or safe. The Rosewood experience is an amazing alternative that lives up to all the positive verbal references we obtained when looking at what was available in Kingston. Their different health needs are being attended to professionally by a friendly and competent staff. After walking in unannounced at various times of the day and late evening the atmosphere presented is friendly and secure. I noticed that each of the residents is being called by name regardless of where they are and who the staff member is. Impromptu visits sometimes resulted with an invitation by my parents to stay for lunch or dinner. To quote my dad who can be fussy about the food he eats – “it is not as good as Mom’s cooking” but we all agree (including my Dad) that the food presented is tasty, with healthy sized portions choices that accommodate a wide variety of the residents personal preferences. From my personal perspective and what I observe with others while I am there, the Rosewood team has a good operating formula that offers a highly personalized and cozy environment. Thank you to the Management and staff at the Rosewood.

I found the staff friendly and helpful. The nursing staff have been excellent. The staff very quickly get to know you by name which is quite helpful and reassuring. There is always someone available to answer questions. The food has been very good and the service friendly. The service goes out of their way to accommodate your requests.

My father was a resident there and an incident occurred during one of my visits. My sister had an argument with another sibling and had lost her temper to the point of being berserk. Since she was out of control, I locked my father's room leaving her out in the hallway so she would calm down. Since I did not have a cell phone at that time and my father did not have a phone, I hit the emergency button. After ten minutes, things sounded calm in the hallway, I unlocked the door. No one ever showed up and inquired about my father. He was very shaken and was afraid of my sister since he was taken out of her home due to alleged abuse but negligence was proven. Maybe someone did show up but did not knock on the door. I don't imagine that they would of done anything since it was that sister who was paying the bills as a Power of Attorney.
