My mother-in-law receives excellent care here

Oct 15, 2021
In 2021, I had a six-week clinical practicum as a dietetic intern at the Trillium Retirement and Care Community in Kingston, ON. It was a great experience. All of the staff and residents that I met were friendly. The dietitian that I worked with was very positive and supportive. The facility was clean and they offered good-quality meals to the residents. There were various activities that residents could participate in, such as group fitness activities. The facility has a Ridge building (closest to Rexall Pharmacy) and a Court building. The Trillium Child Care Centre is within the Court building and it was nice seeing children walking around or playing outside. Trillium Care Community, thank you for helping me to become a dietitian and keep up the great work in taking care of residents!

My mother has been in LTC at Trillium for about 8 months now and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience. They've handled Covid extremely well with minimal outbreaks and great communication with families. All of the staff I've spoken with have been so friendly and compassionate, and I appreciate all the activities they do with the residents to keep them entertained and engaged.

My mother (97) has lived in the retirement area at Trillium Care Community for the past 11 years and loves it. Even now, as dementia is setting in, she is able to function as independently as possible, with, of course, the necessary supports from the fabulous, caring staff. She has a room that faces an inner courtyard which has been beautifully decorated by Mallory, the Lifestyle Consultant, with colourful butterflies and bird houses. She has always been a gardener so she loves to keep the rose bushes there healthy, and waters and prunes several planters and hanging baskets. She frequently tells me how happy she is in her home and that she wants for nothing. Thank you to all the staff who make my life easier!!

My ex-husband has been at Trillium for 7 years. He is very happy there, and staff is always caring and friendly. In Covid, staff have facilitated a monthly phone call for us to keep in touch, and that has been very nice. Staff are very responsive to my questions, and they keep families updated regularly during COVID. Thank you to all the staff at Trillium, during this very difficult time!
